It’s been a while since I’ve updated this thing, but, now is a good time as any. I work at a new post down the street from where I used to work. I was transferred just a week ago, and l have to say, its a nice change of scenery. It’s not the same 4 walls every single night. The Purvis trailers site is ok. Its a 240 acre complex of used trailers waiting to be renovated and sent to various locations around Mississippi. There are five different entry /exit posts at this site, and every night six of us rotate between them. of course, there’s no internet out here, so thats got me bummed. My Pocket PC isn’t picking up any Wi Fi access points either.
I’m seriously considering buying a basic laptop. I looked at one online @ TigerDirect.com made by Acer. 1Ghz. 60GB and 1GB of RAM with WiFi. $540 plus shipping. And I can pay for it in 4 easy payments, instead of putting an unnecessary hole in my checking account. I dont need a top of the line laptop, since my home pc is already that, I just want something mobile to pass the time and be able to write my blog. Maybe I’ll feel froggy and get one of those wireless AirCards, that works through a participating cellphone company. However, it costs roughly $60 a month and its a little faster than dial-up. It would be great to be able to sit here at work and surf the net, however, until that service gets cheaper and/or faster, I can put it off for now. I’ll just write my stuff up and upload it when I get home.
