So here I am with my new laptop! I love this thing. It was totally worth it. I’m happy I spent the money to get it. I’s got a wide screen LCD, so watching movies on it is perfect, along with viewing different programs. I’ve already installed the extra 512MB RAM, and its even faster now. For one thing, it’s certainly a lot easier writing a blog on this than on my Pocket PC! I’m still shopping around for an Air Card. They all promise broadband access, but are only a little faster than dial-up, which is unacceptable. Not for $60/month! Apparently Cellular South has one up and running, but its still in the beginning stages, so is a bit slow, according to the nice lady on the phone. So we’ll see what happens.
I finally sold my damn moped on Sunday! What a relief. For those that don’t know, along with my 2000 Cavalier, I had had a 55cc moped as well, as a work commute in Hawaii. Well, it’s been sitting in storage here non-working ever since I got out of the Navy. The guy I worked with Saturday night agreed to buy it for $100 because his son loves to tinker with engines and get them working. I said hallelujah. He followed me to my place and we loaded it on the back of his truck and he handed the cash over. Simple as that.
I’ve decided that I’m going to make some instructional videos for CyberNet Worlds, since they have none, and I could host them on my server. Instructional videos for just about everything: Basic Movement, Chatting, Advanced Citizen features, Building; the works. All sub-categorized with even more videos. This is a nice project to start if and when I get that AirCard. I’ve been a member of CNW since October 2003, and now I’m a Lifetime citizen. About time I start giving something back.
I’ve uninstalled a lot of the pre-installed crap that came with the laptop already. Just promotional stuff that will bog the system down. When I get home (while this is uploaded) I’m going to download AVG Anti-virus from www.download.com, rated 5 out of 5 in a bunch of reviews. It’s what I’m using on my Desktop PC and I love it. It’s caught everything and a lot more that Spyware Doctor just failed to miss. I’m also going to download the Microsoft beta again. I was happy for what it did anyway.
So, not much else happening in my little world. Mostly just work and sleep work and sleep. Ah, its 0112 right now. . . I guess I’ll piddle around a bit more with my brand-spankin new laptop
