So I’m over here at the VA Hospital with my Dad today. Woke up at about 0600 and we had breakfast at the local diner here in town. Then we took our hour ½ drive up here to Jackson, MS. Now I’m sitting here in the patient waiting area, as my dad has his various appointments.
I’ve been doing nothing as of late but think of my move to Albuquerque. I’m giddy with excitement. To leave this dreaded place will be a tremendous leap forward for me. I will plunge directly into financial responsibility and overall wellbeing. I’ll have no choice but to keep my finances in line and learn to live with what I have available.
I wasn’t feeling too hot on Monday. That morning and all Sunday night I had had the worst headache, I felt like crap and just didn’t want to do. I then came home and helped mom landscape the backyard. Did the same thing yesterday after I dropped my car off, then went and picked my car up before we headed for dinner at Popeye’s. Turns out the O2 sensor I had installed was dead, and there might have been something with the MAF sensor, but the guy wouldn’t work on it because I had an aftermarket performance intake. So because he couldn’t complete the diagnostic, I wasn’t charged a dime. So then after dinner I went to the car-parts store and had the sensor swapped out with a new one. Installed it and now the car runs like a champ for now. Who knows what tomorrow brings.
Theres a lot of old folks here. From old wars come and gone. Veterans, who seek the benefits of the VA hospital, pump themselves full of drugs so they may live in peace and quiet or dulled misery. I myself have come here a few times for some things.
Lana called me again last night, at about 0100, and we chatted for a little while. She’s got a wedding to go to, so she has to buy some skirts and whatnot. I really miss hanging out with her, and she’s the only one so far that has stuck as a friend after I’ve moved away from a place.
Well, theres a high pitched noise in this waiting room that’s about to drive me up the wall, so I’m gonna go smoke a cigarette. See you soon.
Signing off
