Happy 4th of July everyone!
Today is a glorious day. Went to sleep close 0900 and had some weird dreams. Dreams that may or may not have anything to do with my life, but basically just keep my noggin occupied while I sleep. When I awoke the skies were turbulent with a coming storm. The squall line swept through, whipping the trees to and fro. I took a shower and got ready for work, and put some lunch together. I’m working at a new site tonight, in Carnes Mississippi, so I wanted to leave early to be sure I found the place OK.
By the time I left the house, it began to drizzle and the clouds looked evermore forboding. I hit the highway and combated the puddles that began to form on the already slick asphalt and headed South.
I stopped in at a Kangaroo convenience store and bought some Coke Zero’s and some gummy worms. After a few more miles, I found the place alright and made my introductions to the dayshift crew and exchanged some war stories. When the second night shift person came on duty, the rest left and we closed off the gate. It’s a two man post, so it’s very laid back here.
I like this new guy I’m working with. A very intelligent black man, not the usual jiving and cussing stereotypical black that is so often seen in Mississippi. Well, I’ve been on post for about an hour now, and I think him and I will have some good things to talk about. So that’s all for now. More to come.
Signing off,
-Bull
