A few days ago, I downloaded the Jott application for my Blackberry, only to find out that it didn’t work when attempting to reply to an email.
Shree from Jott contacted me that day saying he wanted to help. A few emails back and forth and here we are today. I wasn’t going to share why it didn’t work and how simple it was to fix, until I saw in my statistics that some other people have had the same issue and we’re scouring the web looking for an answer. Look no further folks, it’s easy:
- Go to Options on your BlackBerry
- Advanced Options
- Applications
- Scroll down to Jott for BlackBerry
- Hit the BlackBerry Menu button
- Select Edit Permissions
- Make sure everything is set to Allow (In my case, Interactions was set to Custom, which was incorrect).
That’s all you have to do after installing Jott for BlackBerry! Apparently there was a goof up somewhere and the program is installed that way.
By the way, the program is installed with the speakerphone option turned ON, and the volume of the ladies voice will probably do some damage to the speakers if left on continuously. It doesn’t let you adjust the volume either. Hit the BlackBerry Menu button and turn Speakerphone off so she can quietly whisper in your ear instead of alerting the whole neighborhood.
Anyway hope this helps, I’ll be playing with the application a bit more to test out its capabilities.

I thought this might work for me, no dice. Can’t seem to change the “Custom” for “interactions” to “allow.” I so want to use this application. I guess more Googling is in my future.

@Paul
I’m sorry to hear about your problem with Jott. Which model of BlackBerry do you have? Give me some more info about what’s going on and I may be able to help you.
