About CyberNet Worlds

Since its inception in late 2000, CyberNet Worlds (CNW) has been at the forefront of 3D chat programs and often been home to hundreds of Citizens (registered users).

cits

CNW as a whole is a family community. Each member helps the other out and violence or vulgar language is not tolerated in the least bit. With a myriad of things to do, it’s never a dull moment in the wonderful Universe of CyberNet Worlds.

Citizens

Citizens in CNW are the paying members of the program. While using CNW is free for everyone, Citizens are able to do so much more. A Citizen can:

  • Purchase/Own his/her own world within which they can build things beyond their wildest dreams.
  • Save friends in a contact list
  • Communicate with other registered Citizens via the “telegram” system.
  • “Join” or invite other registered citizens to “Join” you anywhere in the 3D universe.
  • Participate in Citizen games and contests
  • Build in other worlds with that owners permission
  • Run pre-scripted or custom built “Bots” to assist them with building/running their world

Tourists

The program itself is free to use for anyone. Free users are known as Tourists and are just that. As with the real world, as a tourist you  are limited to your actions when visiting a foreign country. A Tourist in CNW is no different. You can chat with whomever you like, but there are some limitations. You cannot do the actions as described above in the “Citizens” section. Tourists are limited to building in the world !Tourists, but still have all the resources available to them to assist them in building magnificent projects from the mind’s eye.

Building

Building is by far the best of what makes CyberNet Worlds so much fun.

You can build anything you can dream of, your only limitation is the amount of space you can do it in and your imagination. You can either build in a pre-determined world for public building, or you can choose one of CNW’s many different Packages for purchasing your own world.

Even though the smallest world doesn’t provide much space, I myself have seen wonderful builds by Citizens using up every spare centimeter they could squeeze out of a world. And some of the largest worlds within the Universe of CNW, don’t use up a lot of space at all. Anything from Medieval/Fantasy builds to SciFi/Space worlds exist within CNW. It’s special to visit each and every world, and as they say with photography, every photo is a window into the photographers spirit.

With the browser that runs CNW, come a myriad of tools at your fingertips. And with the newest version 4.1, even more tools are at your disposal.

Just to list a few of them:

  • Copy and Paste Objects and move them around your world in real time
  • Multiple Object selection
  • Assign Triggers (Activate, Bump, etc)
  • Assign Different Commands (Play a movie, make a noise, make it move!)
  • Edit the terrain with the same easy to use interface
  • Create a “mover”(make different objects ride-able, such as cars, boats, hang gliders, etc)
  • Import your own objects that you’ve created, compatible formats are .cob, .rwx, .scn and .x files.

And much, much more is available. Building does take practice but that’s just  the start of all the fun!

Avatars

What fun would it be if everyone looked the same? In CNW, each world has an owner definable Avatar list that the visitor may choose from and select to wear that Avatar. If you have your own world, you may import your own Avatars from different makers around the Internet, or design your own using your 3D design software of your choice.

Communicating

Of course you have to be able to communicate. The main communication system in CNW naturally is chatting. When you enter a world, and users are within range, you may begin typing to speak with them and have a jolly good time. There is also a whisper feature so you can whisper to one person for private messaging.

For sending someone a message out of world or a user that isn’t online and you would like to leave them a message, there is the Telegram feature. When that person logs in next they’ll get that message.

You can also Join or Invite others in the browser. If you need someone to see something, you can invite them to join you, or you can join them and you’ll pop right in front of them!

If all that isn’t enough for you, then you can also send and receive files from right within the browser. Fun eh?

Getting the help you need

To reiterate, the core of CNW’s values is the family nature of every member. If members need help with something, all they need do is ask. There is also a community forum run which seeks to answer any questions one may ask. A last resort would be to seek help using the contact form of the CyberNet Worlds web site.
